Single Touch Payroll (STP) is an Australian Government initiative which streamlines the reporting of tax and superannuation information to the tax office. Using STP-enabled software, employees’ salary and wage, tax withheld and super information is lodged with the tax office each time employees are paid.

Single Touch Payroll has been a significant change in the way payroll is reported we will ensure you are complying with the ATO legislation.

Is Single Touch Payroll Compulsory?

Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting has been compulsory for small businesses (those with 20 employees or less) since July 1, 2019.

STP has been compulsory for employers with more than 20 employees since

July 1, 2018.

If you are in the construction industry, you have a quarterly obligation to report to CoINVEST for your employees’ long-service leave entitlements. This is only applicable to employees who work out on site. We can manage this for you and provide CoINVEST with the required information.

 

Workers’ compensation is a compulsory statutory form of insurance for all employers and provides protection to workers if they suffer a work-related injury.

Your annual remuneration is due for lodgement each year. We will work with you to submit this information to Workcover and notify them of any changes to your business. Keeping this information accurate and up to date is important as it will ensure you are paying the correct premium and avoid any penalties that may apply.

 

The TPAR is an industry specific report and informs the ATO about payments made to contractors for providing services. The data is then matched to the annual income declared by a contractor to assist in improving compliance. Data matching by the ATO detects contractors who have failed to lodge tax returns or failed to disclose their income. We have an in-depth knowledge of this requirement and can assist in the lodgement of your TPAR.
